Giving to THE WILDS

Can anything good come out of the game of golf? Yes, many good things can and do come out of THE WILDS Golf Tournament, which is played in the fall of each year in the Greenville, South Carolina area. The captain’s choice format and handicapping of individual’s scores makes it possible for everyone to contribute to the team. Live and silent auctions add to the good spirit of the occasion. Tournament sponsors, major sponsors, hole sponsors, and special event sponsors go out of their way to make the event a success.

Participants come from many different states to participate in a goodwill event that, among other good things, provides finances for the ministry to be able to offer scholarships to churches to bring at-risk young people to THE WILDS free of charge to the campers’ families, who are seldom in a position to spend the money. These scholarships help unsaved young people have the chance to hear the gospel at THE WILDS. Through the generosity of many, chasing and hitting a little white ball has become an activity that strengthens the entire ministry of THE WILDS.

This year’s tournament is scheduled for Monday, September 27, 2010, at Furman Golf Club and Green Valley Country Club. Please make plans to join us for a day of great golfing!
